Chariots of Fire: Remembering Eric Liddell and Student Sport at the University of Edinburgh

This article features in our latest issue of the Journal, Vol 51, No 2, and celebrates the life and achievements of Eric Liddell, and the long history of sporting excellence at the University of Edinburgh. We have brought together a note from the very first issue in 1925, announcing Liddell's success at Paris in 1924, an anecdotal account of running alongside Liddell by Neil Campbell originally published in 1991, and a moden commentary on sports at the University from former Director of Physcial Education at Edinburgh, Alan Chainey.
